The Opportunity
The company is hiring a Founding Engineer to work directly with the founding team to define and build core product, infrastructure, and systems. This role offers massive ownership, technical influence, and a chance to shape both the product and company from day one.
It’s an ideal position for a builder who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and wants to help define a category-defining product in the age of AI.
Responsibilities
- Architect and ship scalable, AI-powered products from the ground up
- Apply state-of-the-art techniques in LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and agentic systems
- Collaborate directly with the CEO, design, and go-to-market teams to rapidly iterate on product
- Own key technical decisions across the full stack, including infrastructure and model integration
- Define and evolve the engineering culture, practices, and team over time
Tech Stack
- Languages: TypeScript, Python
- Frameworks: Next.js, React, FastAPI
- AI/ML: OpenAI API, LangChain, Pinecone/Weaviate, Hugging Face, fine-tuning, RAG
- Infrastructure: AWS/GCP, Docker, Postgres, Vercel
- Tooling: GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack, Retool
Ideal Candidate
- 4+ years of full-stack or backend experience, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment
- Strong familiarity with the modern AI/ML landscape (LLMs, embeddings, NLP workflows)
- Able to operate across the stack and thrive in ambiguity
- Strong product sense and attention to user experience
- Fast-moving, iterative, and low-ego
- Motivated to help build not just a product, but the company itself
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with vector databases, agent frameworks, or fine-tuning custom models
- Previous work in 0→1 environments
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or a strong online technical presence (e.g., blog, GitHub, X/Twitter)
